although I do appreciate the passion!
Dean, Theodore has been a long time purist...he was even our RM moderator for a short period of time when the site existed as ThePuristS.
Theodore, you were responding to Dean, I assume given the post placement, not to Anthony. Dean (TickTalk) is a VC collector and our most recent Montblanc grand prize winner.
So now that the intros are out of the way, I am actually excited and honored that Theodore would comment in the Montblanc forum.
Personally I don't necessarily agree with all the opinions rendered but those are his and I am glad that issues are and continue to be debated in a "PuristS" way. Maybe this is a wake up call for Montblanc to do a better job at persuading collectors like Theodore about the Villeret series...perhaps this should be a wake up call for myself to be a better moderator !
Anyway, we all know (Theodore I am sure knows since he is a VETERAN as well as a professional in the business) that we can nitpick finishing at 50x so really there is no need to amp this up. Shadows, photoshop adjustments, angles, all play optical illusions...no one can know the truth with pictures alone.
Besides I for one (and I am sure I am in the minority) would rather pay for solid gold dial plates than carbon nanotubes any day (Theodore you know I'm joking right? )
Warmest, Mike
