... this 4S79 movement project, to be certified chronometer, was actually the "test case" for reviving the mechanical GS (that's my conclusion), therefore HE was assigned to this project, knowing that he will do the reviving GS project, too.  So, it was relatively low-profile.  And even when they released 500 LE Chronometer version, they were relatively quiet.....

This is all my "theory" smile

Credor Chronometer..... in WG case.... Have a great week! Ken ...

As always, reliability, accuracy is....

.. second to none :-) This was made BEFORE the modern GS was resurrected - could say that it was a "test case" and the same guy did this as the one did GS project. In that sense, a monumental piece..... Thanks! Ken

Amazing!

So often the high-end Seikos falter when it comes to aesthetics (at least for me), but this is a beautifully proportioned watch with very handsome case and gorgeous dial!

Not only that....

.. this still runs +2 ~ 3 sec per day at any position :-)

that's a keeper!

Very nice aesthetics, interesting movement, historically significant, reasonably priced, and highly accurate. Sounds like the perfect package :)

Thanks, Matt!

One of very few watches in the world with special adjustment technique using weight attached directly the hairspring. Congrats, Ken! Great catch. Regards, Indera

Just trying to do that....

 By: KIH : September 30th, 2014-17:58
.. but there is one at Shizukuishi factory who he taught, so at least there will be one.... the technique and persistence being forgotten in this "efficient" world... unfortunately.

Hi, Ken, I learnt from your old post in the interview with the "God of Adjustment" about the secret counterweight on the hair spring. I had a 44KS cal. 4402A from the mid 1960s which was mentioned by the God in the interview to be the first SEIKO movement...

The secret revealed...

Here is the picture of the secret adjustment technique. Pictures were taken by Noah Riley of his vintage 44KS from mid 1960s. Seen here is macro shot of the counterweight attached to the balance spring, a very cool and rare adjustment technique made by SE...

These non-chronometer version of 4S Credor have MSRP of 150,000 JPY upon release in 1998, which was only a fraction of today Credor mechanical. The case polishing is so nice that it almost feels like the steel is melting. I also had the two-tone version. ...
