world to own one? i went for black and there is still a white one available so if anyone wants one please pm me and i'll happily give sellers details. shipping from Japan.
isnt life strange, i saw it last week on the net and commented to my wife how nice i thought it was then put it to one side of my thoughts while i looked at other things. from the response to Kongs post i gathered it was a very very popular watch indeed. i didnt want to just follow the herd so looked at all the NOS 70's versions to see what was around, the answer to that was nothing except for this which i considered
then discarded as its manual wind and other reasons. (i've borrowed the pic from the bay and obviously deleted the sellers id from it.)
it seems that the likelyhood is that the Discus will never be a common watch despite about 20 purists from the far east already owning one or even two each so i did the dirty deed. once her majesties inspector of taxes has taken her wad(if i'm unlucky) it may well turn out to be an expensive piece, but i was on the verge of buying an Orient Star power reserve and this is much much nicer. as i live in the UK's most sheep populated area i might as well be one
i know that the Angular Momentum eglimose dragon dialled watch i want to buy is a disc display as well so when i can afford to buy that i'll part company with the seiko, perhaps
thankyou Kong for bringing it too us, thankyou everyone for posting such encouraging reports on it, thankyou for all the wrist shots and thankyou for breaking down my resistance. more importantly thankyou for bringing a relatively inexpensive timepiece to the forum and getting so many posts on it. for that to happen it must be something pretty special.
